Revised Job Description for Clarity and Readability KMGH, the E.W. Scripps Company ABC affiliate in Denver, Colorado, is seeking a weekend anchor and MMJ to join our morning team. The ideal candidate is passionate about reporting and actively seeks opportunities to bring their journalistic experience to both the desk and the field daily. You should be a natural leader eager to shape the show by collaborating with the producer and co-anchor to develop fresh content each weekend morning. For weekday shifts, you will present well-researched pitches demonstrating viewer benefits for each story. While working regularly with photojournalists, you should also be proactive in capturing elements independently to advance the next day's story. Responsibilities: Anchor the newscast. Research, gather, write, and develop news content across multiple platforms. Report live from various locations when necessary. Engage in community service activities, including acting as master of ceremonies and station event host/hostess. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related discipline preferred or equivalent experience. Typically, 3+ years of on-camera experience preferred. Skills and Attributes: Ability to connect on camera with a sense of urgency. Capacity to cultivate sources and uncover stories. Knowledge of newsroom software and databases is highly desirable. Strong news judgment and organizational skills. Excellent logistical planning and ability to work under pressure. Good editorial judgment, mastery of journalistic ethics, and understanding of libel law. Clear and concise speaking ability. Valid driver's license with a good driving record and proof of insurance meeting company requirements. Compensation: Annual salary ranges from $90,000 to $105,000, specific to Colorado candidates, in accordance with state and local salary transparency laws.
