Job Description

Job Title: Weekend Anchor and MMJ KMGH, the E.W. Scripps Company ABC affiliate in Denver, Colorado, is seeking a weekend anchor and MMJ to join our morning team. The ideal candidate is passionate about reporting and eager to bring their journalistic experience to both the desk and the field daily. You should be a natural leader, enthusiastic about shaping the shows by collaborating with the producer and co-anchor to find fresh content each weekend morning. For weekday shows, bring well-researched pitches and ideas demonstrating viewer benefit for each story. You will work with photojournalists but should also be capable of capturing elements independently to advance the next day's story. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Anchor the newscast. Research, gather, write, and develop news content across multiple platforms. Report live from various locations during news events. Participate in community service activities, including hosting station events and serving as master of ceremonies. Perform other duties as assigned. WHAT YOU'LL NEED: Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience. 3+ years on-camera experience preferred. WHAT YOU'LL BRING: Strong on-camera presence with a sense of urgency. Ability to develop sources and uncover stories. Knowledge of newsroom systems and databases is preferred. Excellent news judgment and organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Good editorial judgment, ethics, and understanding of libel law. Clear and concise communication skills. Valid driver's license, good driving record, and proof of insurance.

Compensation and Benefits: Annual Salary Range: $90,000 - $105,000.
