We’re currently hiring for a Public Relations Manager – a full-time position based anywhere in the US , with flexibility for occasional travel.

About the Role:

This is a key position within our marketing team, focused on developing and executing a strategic PR program to strengthen Bristlecone’s brand visibility, thought leadership, and media presence. You'll work closely with our executives and leadership team to build media relationships, proactively pitch stories, manage crisis communication, and position Bristlecone as an industry leader in the IT and supply chain space.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and execute a PR strategy that aligns with business and marketing objectives, strengthening Bristlecone’s market presence.

· Build and maintain deep relationships with journalists, editors, and media contacts to secure high-impact earned media opportunities.

· Proactively pitch media to generate coverage, including interviews, feature stories, and trend commentary.

· Monitor editorial calendars and industry trends to identify and capitalize on timely media opportunities.

· Research speaking engagements and award opportunities, create compelling abstracts, and manage submission processes.

· Write and edit PR materials, including press releases, bylined articles, media pitches, and executive messaging.

· Train and prepare company spokespersons for media interactions, ensuring strong, consistent messaging.

· Develop and refine key messaging and media talking points to ensure consistent brand positioning across all external communications.

· Oversee crisis communications planning and response, working with leadership to protect and enhance Bristlecone’s reputation.

· Manage a PR calendar, ensuring alignment with marketing campaigns, corporate milestones, and industry events.

· Track and report PR performance, measuring media coverage, sentiment, and audience reach.

· Analyze competitor media presence and PR strategies to identify opportunities for differentiation and positioning.

· Collaborate with the social media team to amplify earned media coverage and executive thought leadership across digital channels.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.

· 8+ years of public relations experience in IT services or systems integration is required; experience in supply chain is preferred.

· Proven track record of securing earned media coverage and establishing strong media relationships.

· Experience in proactive media pitching, thought leadership, and executive visibility initiatives.

· Familiarity with industry editorial calendars and speaking engagement submission processes.

· Experience writing bylined articles, media pitches, and press materials.

· Hands-on experience managing PR initiatives in-house, including handling press inquiries and crisis communications.

SOFT SKILLS

· Exceptional organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to craft compelling messaging for media interactions.

· Strong relationship-building skills to engage with journalists, editors, executives, and internal stakeholders.

· Proactive and self-sufficient, with the ability to manage multiple PR initiatives and media opportunities in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess media trends, sentiment, and coverage impact.
