Overview:

Landscape Technician- Full Time

RiverWoods Exeter is currently hiring for an experienced Landscape Mechanic to come and join our team! This is a Full Time M-F benefits eligible position.

 

 

RiverWoods Exeter sits on a 200-plus acre campus and is home to the RiverWoods Exeter Arboretum with over 220 different species of trees and fantastic trails and gardens. The Landscape Mechanic will partner with the Lead Landscape Mechanic to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot of all types of landscaping equipment ensuring it operates efficiently and safely. Equipment includes: mowers, trimmers, blowers, chain saws, sanders, snow blowers, plows, RTVs, specialized sidewalk machines, irrigation systems, and other power tools used in outdoor landscaping.

 

The ideal candidate is an accomplished machine operator with a combination of mechanical knowledge, understanding of landscaping practices, basic landscaping and snow management skills and the desire and physical ability to work outside in all conditions.  We are looking for team members who will bring their best selves and specialty skills to our organization. Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all grounds equipment and department vehicles are operating per manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Develop, schedule, and manage the preventive maintenance program.
  • Maintain records of equipment repairs, histories and inventories.
  • Manage repairs on all ground’s equipment and department vehicles.
  • Provides quality customer service with a positive attitude and commitment to teamwork while meeting the needs of residents, staff and visitors. Supports all aspects of the RiverWoods community.
  • Perform routine landscape maintenance including planting, mulching, edging, mowing, trimming, pruning, weeding, sweeping, plant removals, seasonal clean-up and other such tasks.
  • Performs and leads snow removal including: clearing and treating roadways, parking areas, walkways, stairways, other areas and cleaning resident cars.
  • Assists with and leads landscape projects.
  • Provides on-call shift coverage.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience in the field, 5+ years preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain DOT medical card
  • Ability to operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle preferred
  • Automotive maintenance & small engine equipment experience with formal training is preferred.
  • Licenses/certifications in Fisher Plow, Green SnoPro, chainsaw use, EETC, ASE, AOLCP, NHCLP or equivalent a plus.
  • Competence with relevant computer programs and electronic devices
